Partnering with Cipher Press for Chapbook Printing: A Journey Beyond the Stars ⭐️

Here at Ex Why Zed, we’re more than just a book printing company. We’re a team of creators, dedicated to transforming ideas into tangible form. When indie press Cipher Press approached us with their anthology, we were excited to embark on this chapbook printing journey. Their vision aligned perfectly with our expertise in zine printing, making this collaboration a match made in the stars!

Bringing the Anthology to Life: A Print Spec that Echoes through Time

The print spec for “In The Past, The Future Was Better” had to encapsulate the essence of the anthology—timeless, evocative, and impactful. We chose a 198x129mm booklet format with a 4pp cover onto 200gsm uncoated and a full colour double-sided design. The 64pp text was printed onto 100gsm uncoated with black print throughout. After being trimmed, collated, and wire stitched, the anthology was ready to transport readers on a journey through time.

Brilliant communication from start to finish. Mike had endless patience for the many questions we asked. The guides provided were easy to follow and super helpful (the video guides are a must watch too). Our order of hardback illustrated children's books was delivered expertly packaged and on time. As for the finished product itself - stunning - a real joy to finally hold, beautifully made and perfectly printed! We couldn't have asked for more. Well, we did - we instantly placed an order for paperback children's colouring books too, which we are equally as happy with. Look forward to working with Ex Why Zed again in the future.
