The UWE BA Photography Degree Show 2014 was a remarkable event that showcased the exceptional talent of the graduating students. The UWE Photography London show was only a few days away, and the students needed high-quality catalogues to showcase their work. The catalogues had to be of a custom size, printed within a tight deadline, and delivered before the event launched at The Oxo Centre. This was a significant challenge, considering the number of catalogues needed and the high-quality standards required.
Ex Why Zed rose to the challenge, leveraging their expertise in printing and dedication to quality to deliver the catalogues on time. The catalogues were printed on 210x270mm Portrait Books, with a 4pp Cover onto 300gsm Uncoated and Matt Lamination to the outer. The text was printed onto 86pp 170gsm Silk, in four colours throughout. The catalogues were then trimmed, collated, and perfect bound, resulting in a high-quality finish that added a luxury feel to the catalogues.
The stunning catalogues were a hit at the degree show, standing out due to their size – slightly smaller than A4 but still large enough for the super photos to make a big impact. The photography itself was stunning, and the 170gsm Silk added a luxury feel with excellent colour reproduction. The catalogues were delivered in record timing by Ex Why Zed, arriving before the show started.
The UWE BA Photography Degree Show 2014 was a showcase of exceptional talent. Over 500 Art, Design, and Media graduates showcased their final pieces of work at the event, held at the Bower Ashton Campus, near Ashton Court, and at Spike Island in South Bristol. The show highlighted and celebrated the work of the next generation of creative professionals from UWE Bristol, with work on display from a variety of undergraduate and postgraduate courses, including Animation, Art and Media Design by Project, Art and Visual Culture, Drawing and Applied Arts, Fashion, Fine Art, Filmmaking and Creative Media, Graphic Design, Illustration, Journalism, Photography, and Multi-disciplinary Printmaking.
With 30+ students round a table, it can prove difficult to decide on a layout. So, this fluid solution let each student solve it on their own page. The important contact details were prominent but unobtrusive in a clean cut sans serif font, and there was still plenty of scope for one or two examples of their work. The catalogues were a reflection of the individuality and creativity of each student, providing a unique platform for them to showcase their work.
The UWE BA Photography Degree Show 2014 was a celebration of creativity, talent, and hard work.
