Kingston University’s BA(Hons) Illustration Animation course is renowned for its innovative approach to creative education. The films were part of the Kingston Animation Prize, an annual competition sponsored by publisher Random House’s VINTAGE collection. The winning film, titled ‘Embrace’, captivated the judges with brightly coloured characters falling into the sea among the dull debris of a tragedy described in Haddon’s book, The Pier Falls.
The Kingston Animation Illustration Catalogues 2016 were printed as 220x170mm books. The 4-page cover was printed onto 300gsm Evolution Uncoated, while the 164-page text was printed onto 120gsm Uncoated. The catalogue was printed in four colours throughout, providing a vibrant and true-to-life representation of the students’ work. The catalogues were then trimmed, collated, and perfect bound, resulting in a professional and high-quality finish.
This print spec was chosen to ensure the highest quality of degree show printing. The uncoated paper provided a tactile feel, enhancing the viewing experience, while the four-colour print ensured the accurate representation of the students’ work.
